All-Clad Tools

CurveID, NYC, 2016

Client: Groupe SEB

For this new range of cook’s tools, the All-Clad brand

wanted to move away from single-sheet stamped

metal handles that left sharp corners at the

edges and caused ergonomic discomfort while

cooking. We initially embarked on an ergonomic

analysis of several hand positions and movements

done while cooking. This helped us pinpoint potential

areas for improvement during our sketching phase.

Through several rounds of prototypes and design

iterations, we created a common handle end that

could be modified to fit non-stick and stainless steel

end tools. The result a beautiful cook’s tools range

that maintains the All-Clad brand identity while

improving user comfort. The set is currently being

sold by Williams Sonoma
